For Those New to Foxhunting
Foxhunting is a sport and addiction that draws people of all ages in the thrill of the ride and following hounds, to the excitement of watching them work. It is a passion that is very easy to catch! We offer many options to coach and educate those new to the sport of riding to hounds and help to refresh those just getting back to it. We specialize in teaching juniors to ride to hounds, with many suitable horses and ponies, so that the history, tradition and excellent Riding skills are preserved for the future generations.
Hunt Services
We hunt with Limestone Creek Hunt of Cazenovia, NY from July-November, Thursdays and Sundays
Evalulation Rides
Evaluation rides are required for all new clients prior to a days hunting. This gives us the opportunity to access the riders ability to handle them selves and a new horse in a variety of situations we will take a ride out of the arena to make sure that when the hunting day starts everyone is safe. Our horses are our working partners and we must always make certain that the rider is a good match for the horses comfort and the riders safety and enjoyment of the day.
Lease a horse or bring your own!
Seasoned hunt horses are available to lease for the day, subject to availability. All tack and care of the horse will be provided. If you are new to foxhunting, it is highly recommended to experience your first hunt on a leased, seasoned mount rather than bring your own. Hound Walking and Kennel Days
Our hounds travel to North Carolina for the winter and come to the kennels in New York in July. Most Mondays, Tally Ho students and friends will help walk out the hounds to give them exercise to prepare them for hunting. It is also great exercise for the humans! for the schedule of kennel events contact us! It can change depending on weather, etc!
